Duane Litfin (Ph.D., Purdue University; Ph.D., Oxford University) was
inaugurated as Wheaton's seventh president in 1993. Before coming to
Wheaton, Dr. Litfin divided his career between the Church and academia,
serving 10 years as a pastor and 14 years as a teacher. Widely
published, Dr. Litfin possesses a unique combination of pastoral gifts
and serious scholarship. Under his leadership the College has
strengthened both its faculty and student body, enhanced the physical
facilities and academic resources of its campus, and built its
endowment. Through contributions such as his widely-read book on
Christian higher education, Conceiving the Christian College (Eerdmans,
2004), Dr. Litfin has also imparted critical clarity to the College’s
mission and identity. |
