Miss Louise Carolyn Johnson was born June 10, 1895 in Davis Junction, IL
to John P. and Mary C. Johnson (both from Sweden). She graduated from
Wheaton College in 1925 with a B.A. in Literature. She was
Corresponding Secretary and Sergeant at Arms for the Aelioian Literary
Society. She earned a master's degree in library science from the
University of Chicago (1944) and was a librarian and head of the
reference division at the Rockford Public Library for 26 years, retiring
in 1970. She died at the Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center in
Rockford, IL on August 17, 1992. She was 97. |
